A Rockford man gets sentenced to prison time for child pornography

A Rockford man has been sentenced to 8 years in prison for the distribution and receipt of child pornography. Jeffrey Armstrong was also sentenced to 10 years of post-release supervision and fined $5,000.

The FBI alleges that Armstrong spoke with someone online that he believed to be interested in sexual relations with minors. Armstrong said that he shared this interest. Over ten days, an FBI agent posing as a like-minded person got into an online discussion with him and Armstrong spoke about exchanging explicit photos of underage girls.

The affidavit also alleges that Armstrong was hoping to engage in sexual activity with two girls, five and six years old. He told the undercover agent that he has had sexual activity with minors before.
