An entrapment accident at the intersection of Cable Road and State Road results in two people being sent to the hospital.
American Township Fire and EMS and the State Highway Patrol responded to the scene around 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. According to officials at the scene, a black truck driving north on Cable, didn't yield at a stop sign turning west. The turn put the truck in the path of an eastbound Mercury Mariner. The two collided sending the Mariner into an electric post and then rolling on its side.
Within 12 minutes, crews were able to cut the Mariner open and extract two people inside. Both were loaded onto stretchers and rushed to St. Rita's, with unknown injuries. The driver of the truck walked away unharmed.
