A St. Marys man accused of robbing and beating a man, which eventually led to his death, pled not guilty to the crime.
Gordon Diggle the 3rd, entered pleas of not guilty to two counts of murder, felonious assault, and aggravated robbery.
In September of 2010, Diggle is accused of beating and robbing 64 year old Steven Casad, outside the friendly tavern bar in downtown St. Marys. Casad later was transported to Miami Valley Hospital where in a coma, he succumbed to his injuries days later. The corners reports says Casad died of blunt force trauma to the head.
Diggle was picked up in New York State and fought extradition after his arrest, eventually he was brought back to Ohio in December where he was charged with his crimes.
Diggle remains in jail on a 5 million dollar bond.
