Agricultural and Water Quality Center in the works at Wright State Lake Campus

The Wright State University Lake Campus beginning construction on a new agriculture and water quality center.

The newest addition will cost three million dollars to construct. Half of that will be taken care of through state allocated money. The building will feature two 24 student classrooms. It will also include an agricultural lab for activities and research and a lab for water quality research and education. The goal for the addition is not only to further the programs, but also to allow students the opportunity to improve the surrounding area they call home.

"Like I told everybody, we are positioned that it is possible that I can say that the Lake Campus hopefully will become the agricultural central here in terms of providing education. Help us maintain producing agriculture workforce in here, and at same time conduct a lot research in how better do agriculture work with minimizing its impact on the health of the lakes and the waters," commented Dean/Chief of Administrative Officer of Wright State Lake Campus, Jay Albayyari, PH,D.

The building is scheduled for completion in winter 2018 and to be opened by the following spring.
