Alcohol suspected in two vehicle crash on Conant and Piquad Rds

The Ohio State Highway Patrol suspects alcohol was a factor in a crash that left two injured Saturday evening (9/15/18).

Aadhar Nepal, 28, of Lima was traveling northbound on Conant Road in a 2004 Jeep Liberty when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Piquad Road at 5:10 pm. Nepal struck the left side of a 2004 Dodge Caravan driven by Todd Elwer, 42, of Delphos, causing both vehicles to travel into a soybean field on the northwest corner of the intersection.

Elwer was not using a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle and transported to Mercy Health St. Rita's by American Township EMS in serious condition. Nepal had to be extracted from his vehicle and was then transported to St. Rita's by Delphos EMS, where he was treated for his injuries and released. The incident is under investigation at this time.

The Allen County Sheriff's Office and the Allen County Engineers Office also assisted at the scene, along with Midwest Electric Power Company, Delpha Chevrolet Towing, and Big Daddy's Towing.
