Allen County Children's Services is looking for some more sponsors for an annual program.
Several sponsors have already stepped up, but children's services is looking for more people willing to sponsor for this year's "Adopt A Family" program. Sponsors purchase gifts or make donations for a family who may be financially struggling and have an open case with the ACCS. If they wish, sponsors can wrap the gifts themselves and deliver them to the children and their families. Last year 34 businesses bought gifts for 194 children in 55 families.
"The children are in need of anything," said Staci Nichols, program administrator. "Clothes, winter coats, shoes, toys, books and they're so much appreciative. The children that I have seen who benefit from these programs and these gifts get so much out of it. So if you have the ability to help a family it would be much appreciated."
