Allen County Museum and Historical Society extending temporary exhibit by two weeks

LIMA, OH (WLIO) - After positive feedback, the Allen County Museum has extended their latest temporary exhibit by two weeks.

Chronicles: The Great Depression and the Pandemic is a photo series co-curated by the museum's director, Dr. Christine Fowler Shearer, that displays pictures of daily life from both time periods side-by-side.

Many of the pieces are portraits showing how each major historical event impacted Americans and how people persevered through them. The last day to view the exhibit is on Sunday, July 21st. There are books for sale in the lobby that include works from the exhibit and more information about their photographers.

On Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13, from 1-4 p.m., the museum invites the public to "Life in America: The 1920's," a free event to learn more about the culture of the decade through hands-on activities and demonstrations.
