LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Allen County Genealogical Society inducted two new members into the First Families of Allen County during a recent presentation held in their honor.
The ceremony featured detailed accounts of the inductees’ family lineage and other historical facts discovered during the research process. Any person may be included in the First Families roster by proving they are descended from one or more individuals who resided in Allen County by 1840. The inductees said they enjoyed uncovering their ancestry and learning more about their roots.

"I always want to know where it came from. I want to know who was part of my family. The problem is with German descent, but I am able to track the Boyer family since 1853 when they came from Germany to this country," said Sam Boyer, first family inductee.
