The society invited a genealogist to give a presentation on Quaker migration into America, detailing their origins in Europe, their influence in the United States, and the importance of preserving historical information for future generations.
"Make sure you look for connection, because when we go into any courthouse or any cemetery, when we're looking through any genealogical records, what we're looking for is connection, something that connects that person to their spouse or to their their parents or to a sibling. We're looking for connection," said Peggy Clemens Lauritzen, genealogist and guest speaker.
The Genealogical Society’s next meeting, scheduled for May 17, will be a field trip to Pike Run Cemetery, where members will read biographies of early pioneers.
