"So for our students, going to provide them with a good workforce development training. And for our community, it's going to provide students who hopefully will employ, be employed at, you know, firefighting at fire stations, police departments, and also our transportation departments, with the CDL training that we offer here," said Keith Horner, superintendent of Apollo Career Center.
"As mayor of the city of Lima, I know firsthand how important it is to have up-to-date training for fire, police, EMS, safety services, and personnel, and I'm specifically here to encourage you know all of our you know governmental bodies in the area, as well as all of our departments, to really take a look at hiring students that graduate from this facility. Not only do we know that they're being trained on the most up-to-date equipment, but we also know that we're getting students that are right here in our area, right here at home, and who better to serve us than those that we've helped raise," said Mayor Sharetta Smith, City of Lima.
The ceremony was also catered by Apollo Career Center culinary arts students.
