LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — An Ohio artist is helping young creators put their imaginations to work this week at ArtSpace/Lima.
Visiting artist Bryan Moss of Yellow Springs is leading the summer art camp, where campers are creating a sculpture from recycled materials and designing a community map through their own perspectives. Moss has returned to ArtSpace each summer for the past several years, with many campers returning year after year. He said the camp gives young artists a place to collaborate, build friendships and explore their creativity.
"To see Lima grow as an art community, I think it's the perfect balance to the world that we live in now. Because as I talk to the kids, art's always a limited resource. That's not a critique on anyone, the schools, or anyone, it's just the situation we're in. So, to see Lima still grow as an art community every year, it gives me a lot of motivation and inspiration and creates a space for me to impact my own community," Moss said.
The camp runs through Friday and will conclude with a celebration and display of the campers' artwork at ArtSpace/Lima.
