LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Some big improvements are coming to the Bradfield Community Center.
As part of its capital projects, the center will be installing a new gym floor to replace the original one from 1992. It's a long-awaited update expected to benefit the entire facility. In addition, classrooms will receive new carpeting and tile, along with repairs to several leaking windows. The center is also looking ahead to the next phase of its capital improvements.
"We're still working on our capital improvements for next year through the state of Ohio, where we'll have the locker rooms will get redone the bleachers. So just want to give us just a better effects on when people come in for different events, or sporting events, for workouts and things like that. It'll just give just a whole better esthetics to the whole building," said Chris Jackson, executive director with the Bradfield Community Center.
The gym and classrooms will be shut down for a couple of weeks beginning in August as the improvements are made.
