Care Access brings 'Future of Medicine' to Lima

This health screening initiative provides individuals with an opportunity to learn more about their health and the process of participating in clinical trials.

Thursday's session focused on the "Future of Medicine" program through Care Access. This health screening initiative provides individuals with an opportunity to learn more about their health and the process of participating in clinical trials. Adah Ellerbrock, Community Engagement Partner for Care Access, highlighted the importance of the program.

"LPA, it's a little-known cholesterol. If elevated, it could put you three times more at risk for heart attack and stroke. Individuals with elevated levels, which are detected through a blood scan, will have the opportunity to participate in a clinical research trial to help lower those numbers," Ellerbrock said.
