LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The former executive director of the Allen County Regional Transit Authority (RTA), charged with stealing from the agency, was offered a plea deal in her case.
Sheila Haney appeared briefly in Allen County Common Pleas Court on Thursday for her final pre-trial, where she was presented with a plea deal by the State Auditors Office legal counsel.
The deal says the charges against her would be reduced and Haney would have to pay nearly $30,000 in restitution to the RTA, including a recommended probation until the restitution is paid in full to the RTA.
She has not accepted the deal at this time because she still has some questions about the deal. The judge gave her two weeks for a deadline of June 19th to make a decision, or her case will be going to trial in July.
