August 25, 2025, Press Release from Andy Heffner for Bath Township Trustee Campaign:
BATH TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Former Lima Fire Chief Andy Heffner has officially announced his candidacy for Bath Township Trustee. Heffner, a longtime Bath resident, was formally approved by the Allen County Board of Elections for the November 4th ballot.
Heffner has had over 30 years of public service experience. A United States Coast Guard veteran, Heffner began his career serving his country on the Great Lakes, spending four years on routine patrol of the border and assisting in maritime operations. Afterwards, Heffner served with the Lima Fire Department, holding numerous leadership roles before serving as Fire Chief until 2024, where he oversaw operations, managed operating budgets, guided emergency response strategies, and worked to strengthen community relations.
“Throughout my 30 years of public service experience, I have seen firsthand the importance of strong leadership, fiscal responsibility, and careful planning,” says Heffner. “I am running for trustee to ensure that Bath Township remains a safe, vibrant, and well-managed community where residents thrive and businesses succeed responsibly. I believe with my previous work as Fire Chief I can bring the same commitment and common-sense solutions to our community.”
Heffner says that his campaign will focus on addressing safety and emergency personnel needs, practicing fiscal responsibility, and properly maintaining and reviewing infrastructure needs within the community.
