Friends of the Symphony gather ahead of weekend performance

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – It was a busy day for Maestro Andrew Crust. After leading the Lima Symphony Orchestra’s youth concerts, he made his way to the Friends of the Symphony luncheon.

The group meets every Friday before a concert to hear from Crust about the upcoming performance scheduled for Saturday night.

The Friends of the Symphony serve as a support organization for the Lima Symphony Orchestra. Throughout the year, members hold fundraisers to provide financial assistance for educational programming and other organizational needs.

“Mostly financial, a lot of administrative,” said Jean Zink, president of the Friends of the Lima Symphony Orchestra. “If they have a project that they need to have worked on, we can do that, but a lot of it is the financial piece, where we support them for programs that they have scheduled.”

Those who have a passion for music are invited to join the Friends of the Lima Symphony Orchestra. Applications can be found on the orchestra’s website at limasymphony.com
