LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – Leaders from across the region gathered Thursday at the Lima Community Church to take part in the Global Leadership Summit, joining hundreds of thousands of participants from around the world seeking to grow and lead with clarity, purpose, and confidence.

The annual summit, broadcast live from the Chicago area, reaches more than 350,000 people at over 2,200 host sites across more than 100 countries. The Lima Community Church has served as a host site for the past 11 years, bringing together several hundred local leaders eager to enhance their leadership skills.

Global Leadership Summit inspires Lima leaders

“We love hosting this event,” said Chip Bullock, lead pastor at Lima Community Church. “We love getting to see our community partners and making those relationships and then together, like just being under the training and the influence of the summit.”

The event features influential speakers from a range of industries and backgrounds. In addition to the live streamed presentations, the local site offers opportunities for attendees to collaborate and share ideas with fellow leaders in their community.

“One of the recurring themes is, when a leader gets better, everybody wins,” said Joe Patton, director of OhioMeansJobs Allen County. “But a lot of people don't realize they can lead from where they're at. So I think that's a big thing. We like to bring our leadership team, from both management on down to line staff, because we're trying to develop future leaders at our agency and for the county, and this is a great place where they can get inspired.”

Patton added that the summit gives his team the chance to not only learn from world-class speakers, but also to connect with others in the Lima area and exchange ideas on what’s working in their respective workplaces.

The Global Leadership Summit continues Friday.
