LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — A local organization dedicated to helping women struggling with addiction is continuing its mission to bring “Hope in the City.”

About 300 people attended the annual fundraiser for Andrew’s House of Hope, a faith-based recovery home for women. The organization operates one house outside of Elida and plans to open a second location this summer next to Elm Street Church of the Nazarene.

“Hope in the City” event highlights impact of local recovery program

The event featured raffles, live music and personal testimonies from women who have gone through the program. Over the past nine years, Andrew’s House of Hope has helped approximately 250 women on their path to recovery and reconnect with their families.

“For us, it's not just about helping the women to survive addiction or alcoholism. For us, it's about surviving and giving back to the community. So that is always our long term goal, independent living and being able to be a productive person in the community," says Kelly Baeza, executive director of Andrew’s House of Hope.
