LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Members who go above and beyond in supporting the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce were recognized for their efforts during a chamber event.

Those honorees, known as chamber ambassadors, volunteer their time by attending ribbon cuttings, visiting chamber members and participating in other events throughout the year. Ambassadors earn points for each activity they volunteer to support.

Katy Page recognized for outstanding service as chamber ambassador

This year’s ambassador finalists were Sheila Custer, Rylan Ward and Katy Page. Page was named Ambassador of the Year.

“It’s really about connecting with the members. Not only do you make a phone call, but I normally go out and visit all the local members. So this is my fifth or sixth year, until I walk in the door and they go, ‘Hey, it’s Katy from the chamber,’” Page said.

Page encouraged other chamber members to consider joining the ambassador program and getting more involved with the organization.
