LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The City of Lima is making efforts to connect with neighborhoods across the community as it plans this year’s National Night Out.

The 2025 event will take place at Lincoln Park, located just behind Lima Memorial Health System. The hospital is partnering with the city to help bring an evening of fun, community engagement, and public safety awareness to local residents. Attendees can enjoy bounce houses, resource tables, health screenings, and of course food. But organizers say the heart of National Night Out lies in building strong relationships between residents and city officials.

“It feels good to get to see people in the community when we're not getting called for a 911 emergency, when we can actually have time to sit down and talk to somebody about life and the services we provide to the community,” said Lt. Ben Thompson of the Lima Police Department.

The event will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5. The Firefighters Memorial Museum and the Railway Exhibit at Lincoln Park will also be open for tours. The event is free and open to the public.
