LIMA, OH (WLIO) – A Lima man who shot into a crowd of people outside his home has been sentenced to 16 years in prison. David Johnson, 43, was found guilty by an Allen County jury on multiple counts of felonious assault and discharging a firearm on or near a prohibited premises.

In June 2024, prosecutors say two families came together to fight in the 700 block of W. Vine St. During the incident, Johnson fired multiple shots at the crowd. Bullets hit two people, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, as well as cars parked in the area. Johnson also had to forfeit his weapons as part of his sentence.
