LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The city of Lima is reminding residents that the elevator at the Municipal Building will be out of service beginning Thursday, Aug. 27, as it is replaced.

City offices will remain open during the elevator replacement, but residents who need to visit an office on an upper floor will need to use the stairs. Assistance will be available at the front desk to help direct visitors to the appropriate office.

Because of the elevator replacement, Lima City Council will hold its Sept. 14 and Sept. 28 meetings at the Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Education Center.

The mayor's weekly briefings also will be relocated to the Cambridge Center at 418 N. Central Ave. The briefings will be held there from Sept. 2 through Oct. 7.

The elevator replacement is expected to take approximately six weeks.
