LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – The Lima Music Academy is celebrating its fourth year of providing music education to the community.
On Tuesday evening, the academy hosted a meet-and-greet community event where families enjoyed dinner together in honor of the milestone. Currently, the academy has about 40 students who receive instruction in piano, violin, viola and voice, with hopes of expanding the curriculum in the future. As students learn musical concepts, they also develop positive life skills along the way.

"Music has a very important element in helping young people's mental health abilities so if they are struggling in some way, this develops the competency in some things. It develops their self-esteem and an ability to interact with others," says Thomas Holmes, Vice President & Board Member, Lima Music Academy.
