LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – Attention all shutterbugs! The Lima Public Library is now accepting entries for its Summer Photo Contest.

The contest is open to all Allen County residents ages 18 and older and encourages amateur photographers to submit their best nature and architecture images. Photos do not have to be taken within Allen County, and participants may enter one photo in each category.

Lima Public Library launches Summer Photo Contest for amateur photographers

“It’s just a fun way for people to express themselves and for the library to connect with patrons in a way that’s not just about books,” said Liz Smith, head of Public Relations at the Lima Public Library.

“And they can submit them to the library, and they will be judged at the end of the month,” Smith added. “Actually, winners will be announced August 5. And so we're just looking for amateurs to have a chance to express themselves behind their camera and see what they're seeing this summer.”

Entries must be submitted digitally by July 31 by emailing them to morrisd@limalibrary.com. Participants should include "Summer Photo Contest" in the subject line. Full contest rules are available on the library’s website. Entries will be judged by ArtSpace Lima, and winners will be announced on August 5.
