LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — With the school year coming to an end and summer quickly approaching, the City of Lima is preparing for another year of its Summer Parks Program.
This year’s program will be held at Faurot Park and Robb Park and is open to children ages 6 to 12. The program will run Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for eight weeks during the summer.
Participants will take part in a variety of activities, including bowling, skating and swimming.
“Bowling, skating. We're super excited to get to use in the new Lima aquatic park for swim days this year. And we've got a great group of staff coming back to us this summer to keep the kids busy outside, away from the electronics, just getting to be out in nature and enjoying the sunshine,” said Kelsey Pughsley with Lima Parks and Recreation.
Registration for the Summer Parks Program begins Saturday, May 16, from 9 a.m. to noon at the city garage on South Collett Street.
The cost is $50 for students attending schools within the City of Lima and $60 for students attending schools outside the city.
Parents can also register their children during office hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday the following week.
