COLUMBUS, Ohio (WLIO) — The State of Ohio is awarding nearly $12 million to help 73 counties complete demolition projects through the latest round of the Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program.
Each county received approximately $230,000 to support the removal of blighted structures and prepare sites for future redevelopment.
Several local counties are among the recipients. Allen and Logan counties will use the funding for 16 demolition projects each. Mercer County will complete 14 projects, while Putnam County has 12 projects planned.
Auglaize County will use the funding for seven demolition projects, Hardin County has six projects, Hancock County has five, and Van Wert County has one demolition project planned.
State officials also announced that approximately $12 million will be available for demolition projects through the program again next year.
