LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Lima City Schools gathered public input on what the community wants in the district's next superintendent.

At a public forum Monday night, community members shared with consultants from K-12 Business Consulting the characteristics and skills they believe the next superintendent should have. “They want a leader that's going to really connect with the community, really look at those partnerships between community and school district, and be involved in the community, be a cheerleader, be a champion for every one of the kids in this great school district and for the great people that work with those kids,” says Frank Forsthoefel, Consultant, K-12 Business Consulting.

“It's incredibly important because we believe what we have heard today will be very informative for the board so they can start to really think about the kinds of things they want to talk to prospective candidates about. It's also really informative for prospective candidates because they want to know what's in the hearts and minds of the Lima City Schools community,” adds Forsthoefel.

Using this feedback, K-12 will develop a superintendent search profile, which will be provided to the school board and posted on the Lima City Schools website by the end of February.
