COLUMBUS, Ohio (WLIO) – Ohio has awarded millions in funding to enhance roadway safety across the state.
Governor Mike DeWine announced $137.5 million for 55 projects across the state, including $4,550,000 to build a roundabout at the intersection of SR 81 and CR 15 on the Allen/Hardin County line. The project is part of the state’s effort to reduce the number of serious crashes by addressing high-risk intersections.
The construction project is not expected to begin until 2030.
Additional local improvements include major investments in Van Wert and Mercer counties. Other projects in our area to get funding include $4,450,000 for a roundabout project in Van Wert County at the intersection of U.S. 224 and Van Wert Decatur Road. Plus, a sidewalk project in Mercer County along SR 716.
Both the Van Wert and Mercer County projects are expected to begin in 2029.
