LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – Transportation services for Allen County veterans are expanding to include more than just trips to the Dayton VA Hospital.
The Allen County Veterans Service Commission, which has long provided transportation to Dayton for veterans’ medical appointments, will now also offer rides to local VA-directed medical appointments.
"Before we only went to Dayton, but now this is local," said Tamara Wilson, Executive Director of the Allen County Veterans Service Commission. "So, if they have an appointment out at one of the local medical facilities or one of the hospitals or something like that, if they need to go over to Findlay for an appointment, we'll get them there."
Wilson says veterans are asked to provide at least 48 hours’ notice to ensure transportation can be arranged.
