LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The trial is underway for a Lima man involved in a standoff on the Fourth of July.

A jury has been seated in the case of 46-year-old William "Frankie" Edge. He's facing charges of felonious assault, tampering with evidence, and carrying a concealed weapon.

According to Lima detectives, Edge allegedly fired a shot at his girlfriend during an argument in her home, and then left. When she was talking with officers about the incident, they heard gunshots coming from 792 Greenlawn Avenue. Edge was held up in that location and allegedly refused to come out.

The standoff lasted a few hours; police eventually got a search warrant and the SWAT team entered the home and made the arrest.

The trial is expected to last a couple of days.
