SPENCERVILLE, OH (WLIO) – Firefighters battled a three-alarm barn fire in rural Allen County Tuesday afternoon.

The Spencerville Fire Department responded to the blaze just after 1 p.m. in the 1700 block of North Kill Road. Around half a dozen fire departments from Allen and Van Wert counties were called in to help extinguish the fire. In addition to the barn, flames spread to a nearby field, burning approximately two to three acres. Strong winds made it difficult for firefighters to bring the fire under control.
