LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The West Ohio Food Bank is looking to make a splash while supporting the United Way of Greater Lima.
On Thursday, August 28th, the food bank will host a dunk tank fundraiser in its parking lot from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature local celebrities and food bank employees as participants. Attendees can purchase throws for $1 per ball or seven balls for $5. Proceeds will benefit the United Way’s annual campaign, which in turn helps fund programs at the food bank.
“Our number one priority is to feed those most in need and those who come to us for our services,” said Jason Aldrich, communications and public relations manager for the West Ohio Food Bank. “And you know, without the United Way’s help, that would be awful tough for us.”
The food bank hopes the lighthearted event will not only raise money but also awareness about food insecurity in the region. Organizers encourage the public to come out, join the fun, and support both the United Way and the West Ohio Food Bank.
