Amber Alert - Darnell Taylor and Pammy Maye

2/16/24 Update: Police announced this morning that the body of Darnell was located in a sewage drain in Franklin County. Prosecutors are expected to charge Maye with murder. You can read the update by clicking here.

LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Law enforcement believes a 5-year-old Columbus boy could be in danger after his foster mom ran off with him early this morning.

Darnell Taylor was taken by 48-year-old Pammy Maye. Columbus police say they were contacted by Maye's husband after she woke him up around 3 a.m. saying the child may have been hurt and took off. Law enforcement searched the homes of Maye's family and friends before they issued an Amber Alert around 5 a.m.

The SUV Maye used to flee was found in a Cleveland suburb an hour later. Taylor has been in the care of Maye since May of last year. Law enforcement is searching areas around Maye's home.

Be on the lookout for an abducted child. On February 14, 2024 at 3:50 AM, Foster parent advised advised that she harmed her foster child and fled by car.

The incident took place in Franklin County, OH on 905 Reeb Ave in the city of Columbus 43085.

The child's name is Darnell Taylor and the individual is missing. The child is a Black male, age 5, and has black hair and brown eyes.

The suspect's name is Pammy Maye. The suspect is a Black female, age 48, is 4'9" tall, weighs 115, and has brown hair and brown eyes.

The vehicle involved is a gray 2015 Jeep Cherokee with OH plate number jiggzii.
