AMERICAN TOWNSHIP, OH (WLIO) - A two-alarm fire in American Township Friday night destroyed a family home. The American Township Fire Department was called out to the 700 block of Seriff Road just before 10:30 pm Friday. The home was fully engulfed when they got on the scene, they called Shawnee Township fire for mutual aid. The residents were not in the home at the time of the fire but in another building on the property. The Red Cross has been called in to assist the family. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The home is considered a total loss.
