LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Apollo Career Center's "Project Search" program held its info night at Mercy Health St. Rita’s.
The year-long program is tailored for students with intellectual and other developmental disabilities, providing both entry-level and more complex job experiences in a business environment.
Tonight’s information session was all about finding their next class of 12 interns to enroll in the program.

“We're looking for interns every year, so this is kind of our recruitment night. Tonight, we're looking at our 13th-year students. We will have the current interns here talking about what they have been doing, showcase them, and a little bit about the program and why it's important to be in it. A lot of people don't know what the program is, so this kind of helps showcase that, and they can take an application and turn it in,” told Leigh Taylor, Coordinator and Instructor.
Guest speaker and former Project Search Intern, Aiden Koontz added, “When I first joined the program, I didn't know what to expect at all. I was a little shy. But then, after the first week or so, I was like, man, this program is really nice, and the people are nice. The skills trainers are always there for you. Working with co-workers has been nice, and just all the experience is nice.”
