LIMA, OH (WLIO) - At-risk individuals in Allen, Auglaize, and Hardin counties may soon have a better chance of finding a home.
The West Ohio Community Action Partnership (WOCAP) and the Mental Health and Recovery Service Board of Allen, Auglaize, and Hardin Counties are looking for landlords who will rent to those at risk. They are offering a maximum of $2,000 to landlords who agree to be in the program to assist those searching for a home for a fresh start.
"Everybody deserves to have a safe place to live. The thought is once they are able to get a house, they are able to then start working on any other issues they may have. Whether that is employment issues, it will help with their sobriety, can help with their mental health, so just those housing first principles," explained Leora Donley, housing director at WOCAP.
To find out more about the Landlord Incentive Program, you can call Donley at 419-227-2586, extension 154.
