Auglaize Commissioners: airport project underway, new auction site selling a house

Auglaize County Commissioners have said there are updates to the county website and Armstrong Airport project.

On March 1st, the first phase of the utility project for Armstrong Airport began. Utilities are being run from New Knoxville to where the new terminal will be built, as well as to the corporate hangars. The goal is to be done early May and begin the drainage project at the airport. Commissioners said the Auglaize County website now has a new auction site. On March 26th the county switched to using "Gov Deals" to auction off county equipment. Up for sale, that is unique, is a house. The caretaker house at the county fairgrounds will be up for grabs.

"The fair board has no use in its plan and developments of the fairgrounds for a house to be located there," said Commissioner Doug Spencer. "So we made the determination, we're going to try to repurpose that house instead of demolishing the house."

The house was built in 1880. Commissioners hope a bidder will repurpose or relocate the house to wherever they desire.
