NEW KNOXVILLE, Ohio (WLIO) — A rural New Knoxville home sustained extensive damage after a fire Tuesday evening in Auglaize County.
Firefighters from two counties responded to the 6700 block of Holtkamp Road just before 7:30 p.m. to battle the blaze.
According to New Knoxville Fire Chief Jerry Merges, when crews arrived, a “good portion” of the house was already fully involved. Flames and smoke were coming from the garage area and were shooting through the roof.

The occupants of the home made it out safely, and no injuries were reported.
Officials said the garage and a vehicle parked inside were destroyed in the fire.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze within about 30 minutes, but crews remained on the scene for approximately three hours.
