WAPAKONETA, Ohio (WLIO) – The Wapakoneta Fire Department responded to a fire at a downtown business Sunday afternoon.
Two young witnesses, Sebastian Carder and Bentley Klopfenstein, were riding their bikes downtown when they saw smoke coming from The Modern Plantsman. They quickly alerted someone nearby, who called 911. Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from a basement vent. Fire officials requested mutual aid from surrounding departments to help contain the blaze. The business sustained minor fire damage, with most of the impact caused by smoke and water. A neighboring business also received some minor smoke damage.
