Biggest Loser contestant comes to Lima

Being called a big loser isn't always a put down.

Marci Crozier, a season 11 contestant on the weight loss show, "The Biggest Loser," stops by Lima to share her success story with area residents.

Crozier's season of the show is over, but her journey to wellness continues.

"In all my life to be honest with you, "I've always known what to do.  I just didn't do it. So, I didn't have that motivation," said Crozier.

Crozier found that motivation during her time on the reality show. However, fitness is just part of the lifestyle change she's developed.

Thin and Healthy's Total Solution brought Crozier to town to inspire residents to become well rounded individuals as well.

"It's not just always working out, not always changing your diet," said Adah Ellerbrock, Thin and Healthy, on bringing Crozier to Lima to speak.  "It does have to do with changing on the inside, and it was a complete match."

Lima resident Lori Acerro started a fitness routine a few weeks ago, she worked out at the same time as Crozier at Thin and Healthy's Lima location.

"It is inspiring.  I'm anxious to hear her experience and get any tips and figure out how to keep that motivation going," said Accero.

Crozier knows that starting a fitness routine can be difficult. She experienced it herself when her daughter, Courtney, signed the pair up to be teammates on the show.

"I told her I'd throw myself under a bus for her," said Crozier.  "When we were walking when we got on the ranch, I was holding her hand and walking the first mile, and I said I think I just threw myself in front of a train for you young lady."

Crozier is now nearly 90 pounds lighter and has the extra push from her daughter to thank.

Crozier says contestants on the show typically exercise six to eight hours a day.  They usually have a two hour intense workout each day followed by hours of walking.  She suggests others wanting to complete their fitness goals should start by walking as well.
