Employees at Allen County Children Services donned their blue in support of those they serve. With an 11% increase in cases, they responded to 880 reports of abuse in 2021. 25% of those resulted in children being removed due to the severity of the abuse or neglect. They say it’s imperative that people speak up about abuse or neglect.

Allen County Children Service Executive Director Sarah Newland says, “If you see something, if you’re concerned, if you’re not really sure, take precautions and call children's services or law enforcement. We are here to respond to all reports of abuse and neglect. And we rely on all those reporters to inform us of what’s going on in our community.”

Newland says together we can work to reduce the number of children affected by abuse or neglect in Allen County.
