After 40 years as an elected official for Allen County and the State of Ohio, Bob Cupp will not be seeking any elected position, at least that is his plan right now.
Cupp has served as an Allen County Commissioner, a judge on the 3rd District Court of Appeals, an Ohio Supreme Court Justice, and as a State Senator and Representative. Since 2020, Cupp has been Ohio’s Speaker of the House, but he has hit his term limit and will be out of office at the end of the year. But we had to ask, is that the end of a long political career?
“I don’t have any plans to run for elected office,” says Cupp. “But again, as people have observed over the years, you never say never. But that is not in my plans. But I would like to be involved in some way continue to contribute the best I can to the community and the state. I think all of us have an obligation to do what we can to make things better, where we are at, with what we have.”
Your Hometown Stations will be looking back at Cupp’s career in public service on New Year's Day.
