A car runs into an Elida business, but no one got hurt.
Around 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon, the Allen County Sheriff's Office and American Township first responders were called out when a car struck Dollar General in Elida. The driver of the car, an 80-year-old woman, was not hurt; but the force of the crash knocked a large hole in the concrete block wall. As a result of the crash, merchandise outside and inside the store was destroyed.
According to the Allen County Sheriff's Office, the driver said her brakes failed and would not stop her vehicle. She was not cited in connection with the crash.
