Clock Tower Restoration

Tick-tock, time is ticking on the courthouse clock.  A decision needs to be on whether the town’s historic clock tower can be preserved or should be removed.  The courthouse has been standing since 1884 and is in need of some renovations.  County commissioners held a meeting with consultants to assess cost on the crumbling tower and roof.

A broad estimate of two to two and a half million was given, which does not include the forth floor that is also in need of repair.   Commissioners plan on reconvening once more precise estimates are determined.
