Collaborative group participates in World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

A collaborative group brought important information to senior citizens Thursday afternoon.

The Allen County Elder Justice Collaborative Team provided information and different support resources for elder abuse to three different locations around Lima. This was to be a part of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.  One of those locations was Senior Citizens Services, and they're happy to have the group come in and spread important information.

"So often seniors and people in the general public are not aware of how many agencies are out there that can help them - Crime Victim Service, Area Agency on Aging, all of these are so important," said Betsy Winget, executive director of Senior Citizens Services.  "There are several that focus on senior needs, and I think it's great that they're here, that they're doing this and reaching out."

The group also visited the Lima Towers and Allen County Council on Aging.
