LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The town square in downtown Lima was filled with hope and support during the third annual Overdose Awareness event.

The event brought together nearly 40 agencies offering free resources, including personal care items and information on local services. Organizers say the goal is to connect people with help, whether they're facing substance use, homelessness, or other struggles.

Community gathers in Lima for overdose awareness event

"I want them to take away the resources that are available, and know that nobody's alone in this fight and the struggle," said Jessica Maag, Lima/Van Wert supervisor for Prevention Awareness Support Services. "We have a lot of uncertainty right now in our economy. Homelessness is big right now, and substance abuse is also big. You know, relapse is a part of recovery, and we would like to provide information and help for those that are in need."
