LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Congressman Jim Jordan received an up-close look at the University of Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday.
Jordan met with university officials to get a tour of multiple buildings and programs that UNOH has to offer, including the robotics program, the diesel and agriculture program, and the high-performance racing program. Jordan was shown some of the milestones that the university has reached with its large alumni influence in stock car racing as well as monster trucks.
82% of UNOH graduates are employed or continuing their education within 6 months of graduation, and for Congressman Jordan, Ohio schools creating jobs is what it's all about.
"This is just an impressive place with impressive people and impressive students and faculty. We've been out here before; we knew what a great university this is, but we never really had maybe the detailed, in-depth look that we got today, but the robotics lab and the agriculture and diesel area, and of course here in the high-performance racing, which you know you just sort of associate with this great place, so it was fun to see, and as a representative, your job is to go out and talk to the people. If you're going to represent them, you need to go out and see what's going on, and so we like to get out in the community when we can and see fine places like this," stated Congressman Jim Jordan, U.S. Representative, OH (R).
We asked Congressman Jordan about former President Trump's ongoing decision to pick a vice presidential running mate and if he would be interested in being a candidate, and he said he would not be interested.
