Cranker's Cycling to move downtown

An eyesore in downtown Lima is sold. Now, the plan is to turn the neglected space into a downtown bike shop.

Cranker's Cycling owner Kent Fultz is the new owner of the Klaus Block at 401 North Main Street in Lima.   The building sits at the corner of Wayne and Main.  The transaction became official on Friday, but there are already big plans for the three story space.

The first floor will be home to the shop, with space in the back to work on the bikes.  The second floor was previously used as a boarding house with nine separate units.  However, that will initially be used for storage. The third floor was previously a large ballroom and speakeasy.  Fultz has some big ideas for that space, but he's currently focusing on the bike shop.

The 145 year old building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This will be the third move for the business. The business grew too big for the other locations. He hopes to have the first floor ready and open sometime next spring.
