DELPHOS, OH (WLIO) - Students at Delphos Jefferson and Saint John's get a chance to explore their options when they leave high school.
Jefferson High School held their first college and career fair. The juniors and seniors were able to talk to over 30 different universities, career centers, and military recruiters to get a better idea of what each has to offer and how they may fit into their future plans. Organizers want to show that there are many choices available and they should at a lot of them to help them make a better decision.
"I hope that they just see that there are so many options and I hope that they explore more options and maybe open their eyes to universities that they didn't even know existed,"says Karissa Hoersten, career teacher at Delphos Jefferson High School. "I know as I was prepping my students for it, a lot of them did mention that I never heard of that university, or I never knew that was an option."
Hoersten says they may look to expand the event in the future, by maybe adding additional schools and inviting parents to attend to talk to different education and military recruiters too.
