WAPAKONETA, OH (WLIO) - Friends, family, and community members came together to support each other after the passing of a Wapakoneta teen.
The family of AJ Moorman invited those who knew him to a vigil to honor his memory and grieve after the 15-year-old tragically took his life earlier this week. Family members and friends were given an opportunity to speak to the crowd about their favorite memories of AJ and what kind of a person he was. His father wants to remind everyone to take care of each other and show everyone left behind that someone cares about them, and that there's always hope.
"I wouldn't wish this on anybody. This is a horrible, horrible, tragedy. We want to flip this on its head and we want to turn it around into something positive. I'm reaching out to these kids, I want them to know that they have a place that they can go and somebody that they can talk to where judgment is not an issue. And if I don't have the answers for them, I'll find them," Shawn Moorman said.
Though AJ is gone, he will live on through the 8 lives he saved as an organ and tissue donor.
